How much does a resin driveway cost?
It depends on the size of the area, the condition of what is already down, and the aggregate you choose. That is why we quote on site and free of charge, rather than guessing over the phone.
Can you lay resin over my existing driveway?
Often yes, if the base is sound. Resin bound surfacing can go over existing concrete or tarmac in good condition. If the base has moved or is breaking up we will say so. Laying over a bad base is a waste of your money.
Is resin permeable? Do I need planning permission?
Resin bound surfacing is permeable, so water drains through it rather than running off. That is usually what keeps a domestic driveway within permitted development, but always check with your local authority for your own property.
How long does an installation take?
A typical domestic driveway is a matter of days rather than weeks, depending on groundwork. We will give you a realistic timescale with your quote.
Will it fade in the sun?
We use fully UV protected resin, which is what stops the yellowing you sometimes see on cheaper installations.
Do you only do driveways?
No. We also fit epoxy floors, replace fascias, soffits and guttering, carry out landscaping, and take on general building and home improvement work.
Is resin better than tarmac or block paving?
For most driveways, yes, and for a few it is not. Resin drains through itself so there is no standing water and usually no planning issue, and there are no joints for weeds to get into. Tarmac is cheaper up front and softens in a hot summer. Block paving looks right on some houses but the joints need re-sanding and blocks sink where the base is poor. We will tell you honestly which suits your house.
What does it need doing to it?
A wash down with a pressure washer once or twice a year, kept at a sensible distance. That is it. No sealing, no re-sanding, no weeding between joints.
